Jamie Robertson

Before moving back home to Cape Breton - Jamie Robertson was a staple in Southern Ontario, Canada’s music scene for over 20 years.  Jamie has performed with many notable musicians such as Chico Sanchez (The Hog Wild Band) - Dwayne Leforme (Aboriginal People’s Television Network) - Dave Wyles (Bobnoxious) - Ed Pranskus (Thundermug) and many others.  Jamie has also shared performances with such acts as Valdi - The Trews - David Wilcox - The Road Hammers - Rick Taylor and many others.
Jamie started teaching music and related music theory over two decades ago and has inspired and trained hundreds of aspiring musicians of all ages and abilities.  Jamie has enjoyed watching his students grow as musicians and develop a deep rooted love for music.  Some of Jamie’s students have gone on to have very distinguished full and part-time careers in Canada’s ever growing, talented music community.
Though not formally trained, Jamie has music credentials from Arthur Voaden Secondary School, Fanshawe College, The Royal Conservatory of Music and has been honored to have studied with some of the very best Canadian guitarists and Musicians.
Jamie started his teaching career as a co-op student at Arthur Voaden Secondary School’s Guitar Program while teaching privately from his apartment in St Thomas, Ontario.  Jamie then took a Guitar Instructor’s position at St Thomas Ontraio’s Maestro Music Academy while also coaching youth bands at St Thomas Studio Arts.  Later Jamie went on to develop his own guitar curriculum at Fanshawe College’s Guitar Level 1 and 2 evening programs while running his own private music instruction studio as well as being a weekly guitar teacher on a Roger’s Local Cable Television show.  To Date, Jamie still teaches Guitar, Drums, Bass and Ukulele, performs, records and  continues to inspire students of all ages and abilities to love music and cherish their honed talent.

Danielle MacDonald

Music Teacher  Extraordinaire

Danielle, along with her sister Shellie are the driving force behind the East Coast Folk\Country band Hearts of Kin.


Well known for their soulful songwriting, the darling duo's style has been flavored by the early influences of Sheryl Crow, Jewel, The Chicks and the late great John Prine.


Recently reunited in their Cape Breton hometown, the sisters have wasted no time establishing the band as an up-and-coming force.  Already with several songs claiming #1 positions on East Coast radio charts, Hearts of Kin have earned invitations to showcase for the East Coast Music Awards, Nova Scotia Music Week, and the largest outdoor concert in Atlantic Canada, the Cavendish Beach Music Festival.


After sharing stages with names like Serena Ryder, Michelle Wright, and Lennie Gallant, the duo released their first full length album, "Beautiful Burn" on October 27th, 2023.
